Broken Arrow school board releases results of 4-day school week survey

At its Monday meeting, the Broken Arrow Public Schools Board of Education released the results of a survey gauging interest in a four-day school week.

A large majority of those who took the survey would prefer to stick with a traditional calendar.

A little more than 7,700 people took the survey. The majority of respondents are parents or guardians of Broken Arrow students, but employees and some non-parents also took the survey.

71 percent of respondents (4,897 people) said they would prefer a traditional five-day calendar.

18 percent said they like the 4-day week with Fridays off and 11 percent chose the 4-day week with Mondays off.

Parents and employees both said they would prefer to have more breaks during the second semester of the school year.
