Chief justice looks for Oklahoma judge to be removed

The chief justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court filed a petition on Wednesday against District Judge Curtis DeLapp.

Chief Justice Douglas Combs is seeking the removal of DeLapp, a judge in Washington and Nowata counties.  Combs accuses DeLapp of allegedly neglecting his duties and abusing his power as a judge.

Tulsa World reports allegations include twice using deputies to prevent late arrivals to court from entering the court. He then apparently issued a no-bond warrant to have them brought before him.

DeLapp is currently running for re-election in November.

Do you believe DeLapp should be re-elected?  Let us know in the comments.
