Crime rate on Memorial is staggering

Wed, Oct 11, 2017 — Tulsa officers have been staying busy with calls on Memorial Street.

Over the weekend, they investigated a teen who was shot near 27th and Memorial, a shootout near 37th and Memorial and several carjackings at an apartment near 48th and Memorial. Police tell us even they were surprised by the amount of calls they received.

The department sent us crime numbers dating back a year for Memorial, Harvard, Yale and Sheridan between Admiral and 51st Street. It turns out, Memorial is the most dangerous of the bunch and investigators say you should be aware.

“I think they should be concerned,” an officer said.  “They should be very vigilant.”

The crime data includes homicides, rapes, robberies, assaults, larcenies, auto thefts and arsons in the area.
