Fire breaks out at west Tulsa refinery

A fire broke out at HF Sinclair’s west Tulsa refinery Monday afternoon.

According to a company spokesperson, an “operational upset” led to a fire at the company’s west refinery at about 5 p.m.

The spokesperson said the response team followed process and extinguished the fire.

KRMG listeners reported seeing the flames from as far as Sand Springs and Jenks.

The fire could be seen on ODOT’s traffic camera network.
