Hard Rock Tulsa opening its brand new expansion

TULSA. Okla — Track 5, a country themed 65,000 square foot addition to the casino is just about finished and the casino floor and poker room will open to VIPs today at 3.

Track 5 was built to pay tribute to Oklahoma’s honky-tonk roots, is equipped with a stage and a 1,200-square-foot wooden dance floor.

Country music legend Tanya Tucker will christen Track 5’s new live music dance hall venue, with a private, invitation-only show Friday, Feb. 1.

Regular shows will take place at Track 5 through the remainder of February, including a performance by multi-platinum artist Sammy Kershaw on Feb. 15.

Track 5 got its name because songs that refer to Oklahoma or Tulsa are, coincidentally, the fifth tracks on many albums.

Among them are “Tulsa Time” by Don Williams, “Tell Me Something Bad About Tulsa” by George Strait, “Oklahoma Sunshine” by Waylon Jennings, “Home Sweet Oklahoma” by Leon Russell and “Tulsa Turnaround” by Kenny Rogers, all of whom have their pictures prominently displayed on the walls of the casino floor.
