Oklahoma leaders and Macy’s representatives gathered in Owasso Thursday afternoon for the groundbreaking on the new $180 million facility.
Governor Mary Fallin, Senator Jim Inhofe and Congressman Jim Bridenstine, just to name a few, were all in attendance for the ceremony.
Owasso Mayor Doug Bonebrake says Macy’s coming to Owasso is great for the city, but also for the entire region.
“I think this is going to continue to draw more economic development whether it be more jobs or more retail.” Bonebrake said.
The 1.3 million square foot facility will deliver product to Macy’s stores all over the world.
Macy’s scouted in four different states before deciding to come to Oklahoma.
