Police say a driver hit and killed a man who was trying to cross a Tulsa street Monday night.
Police say it happened after dark in a poorly lit area near Admiral and Sheridan.
The man wasn’t in a crosswalk and witnesses told police other cars had to dodge him as well.
When the man tried to cross the road, the driver didn’t see him, and he was hit.
The stretch of road where the accident happened can be dangerous for pedestrians at night.
“During the daytime we don’t have these problems here but after the sun goes down, after it’s dark, it’s extremely dangerous,” Sgt. Kyle Straight. “I’m a little nervous right now standing this close to the roadway.”
The man was transported to the hospital where he later died.
The driver and witnesses stayed to talk to police.
