Broken Arrow just took a big step in its effort to revitalize the area around the intersection of New Orleans and Elm, which is being branded as New Orleans Square.
Josh McFarland with Red Dog Construction is one of the developers behind a new shopping center that will be built on the northwest corner called Cypress Place.
He says they chose the name because cypress trees are so iconic in Louisiana.
“Hopefully our branding will tie in with the theme and will really promote what Broken Arrow is doing,” McFarland said.
Cypress Place has already signed four tenants, including Jimmy’s New York Pizzeria, a candle-making and gift shop called Secret Gardens, a new production and wine-tasting event center for Broken Arrow-based Water’s Edge Winery, and Griffin Orthodontics.
They also have plans for a couple of outparcel tenants.
