The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a trooper has been removed from special duty at the Cadet Lawman academy after showing an "inappropriate adult photo" to another trooper.
Academy staff learned of the possible indiscretion, OHP Capt. George Brown tells KRMG, and decided to reassign Trooper Daniel Martin.
Part of the reason, he says, is that Martin's son is currently attending the academy.
In a statement emailed to KRMG, Brown wrote: "This matter was between peers only and at no time was Trooper Martin ever accused of any type of sexual misconduct with any teen attending the Cadet Lawman Academy. There have been no allegations of physical contact or direct inappropriate behavior between Trooper Martin and attending members of the Cadet Lawman Academy, despite what media sources are alleging."
He says the matter is being dealt with at the troop level, and the Chief of Patrol is awaiting a final report from the OHP lieutenant currently serving as Academy Commandant.\
Martin made national headlines in 2009 after he roughed up an ambulance driver during a traffic stop.
