An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was hurt in a crash just before 11pm Friday night, according to OHP.
A collision report said Trooper Russell Callicoat was parked on the shoulder of I-244 near Yale in his patrol vehicle when a driver slammed into him.
The report said a 19-year-old female driver from Sapulpa left the roadway and hit the trooper’s vehicle. OHP said the cause of the crash was inattentive driving.
Trooper Callicoat received multiple injuries and was taken to the hospital.
OHP said he is in good condition and should be released soon.
The female driver was not hurt.
You might recognize Trooper Callicoat from the A&E TV show Live PD.
He appeared on the show when cameras followed him while on duty in Tulsa. He also made at least one studio appearance in New York City where the show originated.
This story has been updated to reflect a correction from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The original report indicated the crash happened on I-44. OHP later said the crash actually happened on I-244.
