Oklahoma Senator James Lankford resigns from Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission

KRMG has confirmed with Senator James Lankford’s office that he has resigned from the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission.

We’re told the senator resigned in within recent weeks.

“He has seen a drift from the original goals of the Commission to a more partisan political agenda, and as a result, he notified the Commission he can no longer serve as a member.” Lankford’s Office told KRMG.

Lankford is the most recent member of the commission to leave, after Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt was removed earlier this month. Stitt was removed after he signed House Bill 1775 into law.
