Plasma donated by Tulsa man helps in Covid-19 fight

We're hearing from the Tulsa man who donated his plasma to help a Tulsa woman in her fight against Covid-19.

Curtis Barone was likely infected during a trip to Europe.

He became the first confirmed case of Covid-19 in Tulsa County.

He recovered, but he says it was a painful process.

“Being able to actually turn that negative into a positive and contribute plasma as part of a study and be a part of someone's recovery, and hopefully they continue to recover, that feels good,” Barone said.

He says the plasma donation was simple and straightforward, only taking a couple of hours at the Red Cross.

And he's not done, saying that he plans to donate more plasma to be used in the treatment of other Covid-19 patients.

The woman who received the plasma treatment has improved dramatically, doctors say.
