Proposal for new residential space near Brookside withdrawn

TULSA, Okla. — A new residential space will no longer be built on Brookside near 31st and Peoria.

Katy O’Meilia, Planning Director/Project Manager for Planning Design Group says the PDG officially withdrew their application Monday to the Tulsa Metropolitan Planning Commission to design Brookside 31.

FOX23 told you Brookside 31 would consist of residential space-with retail, restaurants and office space. Many people living nearby were for and against the project.

According to an email to FOX23 from the Planning Design Group: “This email is to confirm that we have officially withdrawn the Brookside 31 rezoning application in order to conduct more public outreach and to establish better lines of communication for the project moving forward. A new application will be filed once we have met with more people and gained their feedback on the project.”

The Brookside 31 plans include residential apartments/townhouses, retail shops, restaurants, entertainment, and offices that would’ve spanned over 8 acres of land.
