BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — The City of Broken Arrow will cut the ribbon on its newest park facility at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
Located at 709 Magnolia Ct., Reflection Park is dedicated to victims of the Bever family murders and the first responders at the tragic crime scene.
In 2017, private donors from Broken Arrow and throughout the Tulsa metro area gave $50,000 to purchase the house, which was demolished after a fire broke out in the then vacant home.
City Councilor Mike Lester led the successful fundraising campaign to turn the property into a memorial park and garden, after the brutal killing of five Bever family members in July 2015.
After a tranquil gathering to mark the beginning of the project in May 2018, the City used mostly donated supplies and labor to construct a small walking path, garden and gazebo on the site, which connects to the City’s existing Indian Springs Mini Park behind the property.
