Registered sex offender arrested near daycare, Hominy Police say

A registered sex offender is in police custody after allegedly residing near and entering a safe zone of a school and daycare.

Hominy Police say officers were made aware on Monday of a registered sex offender out of Pawnee County, identified as Christopher Fixmer, residing within 2000 feet of a local daycare.

State law prohibits registered sex offenders from residing within 2000 feet of a school, park or daycare. Registered sex offenders are also prohibited from being within 500 feet of a a school, park or daycare, known as the safe zone.

Hominy Police say they located Fixmer, residing at a residence within 2000 feet of a local daycare. Fixmer was arrested and booked into Osage County Jail.

Police say this is an arrest, not a conviction.
