TPD: Man busted after breaking into escape room

A Tulsa man was arrested Tuesday night after police said he, ironically, broke into an escape room business.

Police said officers were called to the business near 6th and Boston in downtown Tulsa just before 9:30 p.m.

According to TPD, the business had security footage showing the suspect, identified as David Bell, inside the multi-story building. Police said Bell later disconnected the security cameras.

We’re told officers surrounded the building with the suspect still inside. TPD said Bell threw multiple glass objects down a stairwell at police officers below.

According to police, officers tracked the suspect through the building on multiple floors, eventually sending in a K9 officer to help find him. Officers said Bell was found hiding on top of an elevator between floors.

TPD said Bell was arrested and faces multiple charges including:

- 2nd Degree Burglary AFCF (After Former Conviction of a Felony)

- Obstruction

- Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, two counts

- Cruelty/interfering with a Police Dog

- Malicious Injury to Property
