At the recommendation of two health agencies, the Tulsa Health Department has suspended use of the COVID-19 vaccine from Janssen (Johnson & Johnson).
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said they are “recommending a pause in the use of this vaccine out of an abundance of caution.”
This comes after six people experienced blood clots after receiving the vaccine. Nearly 7 million Americans have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The Tulsa Health Department said it would suspend use of the vaccine until the CDC and the FDA complete their reviews of the incidents.
To avoid confusion, THD pointed out that the two other vaccines are unaffected by these developments and will still be used.
