TULSA, Okla. — Investigators with both the Tulsa Fire Department (TFD) and the Tulsa Police Department (TPD) are investigating a mishap involving fireworks at a north Tulsa home early Monday.

Crews responded to a home near 56th Street North and MLK Boulevard Monday. Investigators said three children — one 13-year-old and two 11-year-olds — lit fireworks and threw them through a window, causing the fire.

Police said a 30-year-old woman, Kailey Bahe was on the scene with the children when the mishap occurred. Witnesses reported seeing people running from the burning home this morning.

Bahe was reportedly ticketed for trespassing, and TPD recommended that the Department of Human Services (DHS) get involved.

This is a developing story.
