The Tulsa Zoo names a new CEO. Terrie Correll is taking the helm after being approved by Tulsa Zoo Management Inc.’s Board of Directors.
Correll came to the Tulsa Zoo from The Living Desert in California in the spring of 2009. She has over 30 years of experience in the zoo industry and is a native of Ponca City.
Operation of the Tulsa Zoo has been privatized and Phil Lakin, the TZMI board president, says they feel Correll demonstrated her experience and leadership well during the process.
The Tulsa Zoo has also received accreditation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The AZA had asked officials here to address infrastructure issues here before it gave its stamp of approval.
