VIDEO: Semi flatbed carrying logs rolls on Highway 75

A semi truck carrying 30 tons of logs ran off the road and tipped over, spilling its load in the median and creating a major traffic snarl early Wednesday morning.

Sgt. Gary Otterstrom with TPD told KRMG at the scene the call came in about 4:00 a.m.

He says the driver fell asleep, and no other vehicles were involved.

The driver was not hurt, but was embarrassed, Otterstrom said.

He will be issued a citation.

The inside lanes in both directions were closed for hours while crews worked to clean up the mess.

Northbound lanes were backed up for at least four miles at the height of the rush hour.
