PITTSBURG COUNTY, Okla. — A man was arrested five years after his suspected victim was reported missing in Pittsburg County.

Pittsburg County Sheriff Chris Morris said 36-year-old Cody Ketchum was arrested for first-degree murder in the case of Holly Cantrell, who was reported missing in January 2017.

Cantrell’s remains were found in 2018 near the Cardinal Point area of Lake Eufaula. The remains were determined to have belonged to Cantrell two years later, and her death was then investigated as a homicide.

Cantrell was last seen at a Braum’s restaurant along Highway 69 in McAlester in 2017. She was said to be on a lunch break from her job at McAlester Regional Health Center.

Ketchum was arrested Monday around 3:30 p.m. He is in the Pittsburg County Jail with a $1 million bond.
