TULSA, Okla. — Two Missouri fugitives were caught in an east Tulsa motel room Thursday by Tulsa police.
Colby Fitts and Kayla Fitts were wanted on charges out of Taney County, Mo.
Police said officers went to a motel near East 31st Street and South Memorial Drive around 3 p.m., where they found Colby had rented a room. His location was confirmed by an ankle monitor he was wearing. Kayla was also at the motel.

Police said the two resisted arrest and refused to come out of the motel room. When officers got into the room, Kayla refused to come out of the bathroom, and chemical agents were used to get her out. Colby was found hiding under a bed. Police said neither were injured.
During the arrest, they both claimed to be sovereign citizens who do not adhere to government laws.
Colby is charged in Missouri with kidnapping, attempting to disarm a police officer and other charges. Kayla was wanted on a kidnapping charge. Additionally, both are facing charges in Oklahoma of obstructing justice for resisting arrest.
