CHICAGO — A Girl Scout troop is making headlines for selling cookies outside an Illinois marijuana dispensary last weekend.

According to the Chicago Tribune and WMAQ-TV, Troop 25818 gathered in front of Chicago's Dispensary 33 to sell their Thin Mints, Samoas and other treats Sunday. Troop Leader Melissa Soukup told the Tribune that they ended up selling 230 boxes thanks to the shrewd business move, which came about a month after the state legalized the sale of recreational marijuana.

The girls also gained viral fame as social media users shared videos and photos of the troop.

"Girl Scout cookies and D33 a match made in heaven," one person tweeted.

″The marketing strategy.... I cannot," added another.

″Just giving the people what they love," the dispensary replied.
