Tulsa doctor pays fine for alleged kickback scheme

TULSA — Federal prosecutors in Tulsa say a physician will pay the government nearly $85,000 to settle allegations he was involved in a kickback scheme.

U.S. Attorney Trent Shores said Tuesday 42-year-old Dr. Brandon Claflin entered into a civil settlement agreement to repay some of the money.

Dr. Claflin is an osteopathic physician.

Prosecutors say that beginning in 2013, Claflin prescribed pain creams for his patients and that OK Compounding paid him "medical director fees."

Claflin's attorney, Robert Sartin, declined to comment.
