The car owner, only identified as Yasmin, was delivering groceries Friday when she ran from her car to a woman waiting for the order and her car was stolen, WRC reported.

“I turn around and I just see these three kids circling my car,” she said. “And before I can even do anything, it just happened so fast. They just drove away with my car.”

She reported the silver Mercedes Benz stolen. On Saturday, she got a call from police that they had found it. She said an officer was with the vehicle. When she was unable to find her spare keys, the officer said it would have to be towed. Because of the holiday weekend, it took longer for the tow truck to arrive. The truck was a few blocks away when police called to tell her the vehicle had been stolen, again.

She went to the police station to find out what happened.

In a video recording, an officer told her that they did everything they could.

“No, you did not,” she said. “No, you did not.”

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating.

“MPD is aware of this incident,” the agency said. “It is currently under an internal investigation to determine if any policies have been violated. MPD has been in contact with the complainant to address her concerns.”
