Recall alert: Silicone baby spoons recalled due to choking hazard

About 85,100 silicone baby spoons made by Melii Baby have been recalled. The spoons can break while they’re being used, posing a choking hazard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The spoons had animal shapes — cats, dinosaurs, dogs, sharks or unicorns — at the end of the handle and were sold in packs of three or four or part of a five-piece feeding sets.

The following date codes, which can be found on the back of the spoons, are part of the recall:

  • Three pack - 2024-01
  • Four pack - 2023-12 to 2024-05
  • Feeding sets - all spoons

They were sold at Aldi, Ross, buybuyBaby.com and Amazon among other companies from April to August for $8 or $9.

If you have the recalled spoons, you should stop using them and contact Melii Baby for a free replacement.

You need to take photos of the recalled spoons and then throw them away after emailing the images to the company.
