TULSA, Okla. — Two people were wounded in a shooting and home invasion early Monday, Tulsa police said.

Tulsa police responded to a shooting at a home near 81st and Yale around 5 a.m.

The residents in the home told police that two people broke into the home and one of them was pistol whipped in the face and shot in the arm.

Police said a second person in the home was shot in the chest.

Both were taken to the hospital and were stable, police said.

Police said there were six adults and three children inside the home at the time of the break-in.

“There’s a lot that happened here and we have investigators coming out,” said Tulsa Police Lt. Matt Arnold. “Fortunately nobody lost their lives and thank God those children are safe.”

Police said the people who live in the home are not cooperating at this time. DHS has also been called.

“A total lack of cooperation, and it’s pretty appalling when you have children in the home and these people will not cooperate with the police to investigate and find out who committed this heinous, violent crime,” Arnold said.

Police said the victims told them they didn’t see what either intruder looked like despite being face-to-face with them.

Police are searching for suspects and have not made any arrests as of Monday morning.
