Woman arrested for multiple car crashes in Tulsa with child in car

TULSA, Okla. — Police documents say a woman was arrested after she crashed her car multiple times in Tulsa while suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, with a child in the car.

According to the documents, Tulsa police responded to a hit-and-run crash at East 51st Street South and South Yale Avenue around 10:45 p.m. Saturday.

Tulsa police learned the suspected car that left the scene was also involved in another crash near East 15th Street and Yale.

Documents say Destiny Hufford was at the crash near 15th and Yale, and matched the description of the driver involved in the hit-and-run crash.

Hufford was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol. Documents say she was unable to maintain balance, had an odor of alcohol on her breath and had slurred speech.

According to documents, field sobriety tests were attempted but could not be completed due to Hufford’s instability. Hufford later refused further testing at the jail.

Documents say an 8-year-old child was found in the car and was present during both collisions. The child was taken to the hospital for a possible head injury caused by the crashes.

Documents say Hufford was taken to a hospital and became aggressive, and kicked a police officer in her leg. Hufford was later sedated by hospital staff.

Hufford was arrested for hit and run, DUI injury accident, child endangerment, assault on a police officer, and obstructing/interfering with a police officer.
