CLAREMORE, Okla. — UPDATE, 11/4/2021, 1:18 p.m.: 89-year-old Walter Barrow was killed in Wednesday’s fire.

A person died and a home was damaged after a fire broke out in Claremore early Wednesday, police said.

Firefighters responded to a home in the 1400 block of Archer Drive and saw heavy flames around 5 a.m.

Police said everyone was able to get out of the home except one person.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and the State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting.
