Former Northeastern State University (NSU) pitcher Ryan Helsley will represent the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2022 Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game.
Helsley was born in Tahlequah in 1994 and played college baseball at NSU from 2014-15 were he made 21 starts and compiled a 14-8 record.

He was named to the 2014 All-MIAA Second Team as a freshman and 2015 All-MIAA First Team before being drafted in the fifth round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Cardinals.
He has been with the Cardinals for four seasons and so far this year has posted a 5-1 record with a 0.73 ERA in 29 games and seven saves.

In 38 innings pitched, Helsley has a 56 strikeouts and has given up just 13 hits while holding opponents to a .104 batting average.
The 2022 MLB All-Star Game will be July 19 at 6 p.m. at Dodgers Stadium and will air live on FOX23.
