Former OU student sentenced in domestic abuse case against then-pregnant girlfriend

NORMAN, Okla. — A former OU student was sentenced to 40 years in state prison after prosecutors say he beat his pregnant girlfriend nearly to death.

Gage Ford was involved in an argument with his then-pregnant girlfriend Ally Stephens, on Oct. 17, 2020 in Norman, prosecutors said.

Ford then became violent and began punching Stephens in the face and body, and had to go to the hospital. Ford later turned himself in and was charged with felony domestic assault and battery.

The incident brought to the forefront the issue of domestic violence among college students. Both Ford and Stephens were OU students at the time.

Stephens’ sorority, Alpha Chi Omega posted a graphic photo of the 2020 attack to spread awareness of college domestic violence.
