TULSA, Okla. — A new business announced plans to move into the mostly vacant WPX building in downtown Tulsa.
Legacy Bank announced their second Tulsa location would be inside the MLK and Cameron building. The company will take up the entire third floor with corporate offices as well as 3,000 square feet on the first floor where the bank will operate a full-service branch.
“We looked at several locations in the area to locate our Tulsa headquarters, but none compared to this location. This is the premier Class A office building in Tulsa,” said Brett Magers, President at Legacy Bank and Trust.
Legacy expanded into the Tulsa market in February of 2022 with a loan production office, which quickly turned into a full-service branch in the Post Rock Plaza, near East 101st and Memorial. They plan to continue operations there and eventually build a new branch in south Tulsa as well.
The $100 million WPX building across from Guthrie Green opened in Sept. 2022 and has slowly but surely been gaining tenants.
WPX Energy started the construction on the building but merged with OKC-based Devon Energy, changing the plans for the building half way through construction in 2020.
Helmerich and Payne announced they were moving their headquarters into the WPX building in Dec. 2022.
