Armed robbery thwarted during ‘smoke break’

Tulsa, Okla. — Perfect timing keeps a bar employee from becoming an armed robbery victim.

She had stepped outside from the White Crow Tavern at 424 South Memorial Drive.

KRMG spoke to TPD Cpl. Craig Johnson after the incident at 1:06 a.m. Thursday.

“One of the employees was out back of the back side of the building on a smoke break when she was approached by a younger black male in an SUV,” Cpl. Johnson said.

The suspect pointed a shotgun at the victim and demanded her phone and money.

The victim was able to dash back inside the bar when someone opened the door.

We’re told surveillance video will help identify the suspect.

He took off without any loot.
