While many schools in Oklahoma remain closed on Thursday, students in Bartlesville will be heading back to class.
Superintendent Chuck McCauley says his teachers have accomplished a lot and it's time for them to return to their students.
“The facts are facts,” McCauley said. “There is almost a half of million dollars in new revenue. More revenue than there was in the previous year and that has never happened.”
He adds the decision to reopen was made in conjunction with of the Bartlesville Education Association and with feedback during a three-hour teacher meeting over the weekend. KRMG's told teacher raises, testing and summer plans also played a part in the decision to reopen school.
Community members will replace teachers at the Capitol today to continue the fight.
