City councilors consider electric scooter ordinance change

Tulsa, Okla. — Officials could take action on changing the city's laws on electric scooters this week.

The Tulsa City Council announced they would put a new ordinance into effect at this week's meeting.

The changes would require scooter riders to be at least 16 years old, unless they have a motorcycle license.

Only one rider would be allowed on the scooter at a time, meaning riders could have no passengers.

Another change would not allow scooters to be operated on sidewalks in business areas.
