TULSA, Okla. — The City of Tulsa has four main warming stations open due to the brutally cold temperatures. They have added two new overflow shelters at the Rose Bowl near 11th Street and Memorial Drive and the Tulsa Dream Center in west Tulsa.

The Tulsa Dream Center and the Rose Bowl are both adult-only warming stations and are pet-friendly.

The Rose Bowl, located at 7419 East 11th Street, is open from Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. to Jan. 9 at 9 a.m.

“It’s kind of a limited basis, unfortunately. Space is kind of hard. We want to get pets in as well,” said Mack Haltom, CEO of the Tulsa Day Center.

He said outreach teams are distributing winter supplies and helping to connect unhoused people with available indoor spaces.

“We have over 500 individuals that we’re aware of that are unsheltered, meaning they’re outside. They’re camping, they’re under the bridge. They can be on the sidewalk, so that’s new,” said Haltom. “It’s different and this is very dangerous weather. This is the first real frigid event of the year.”

The west campus of the Tulsa Dream Center is open from 3:00 p.m. to Jan. 7 at 9:00 a.m.

It is located at 4122 West 55th Place in Tulsa.

The other warming stations are John 3:16 Mission (506 North Cheyenne Avenue), The Salvation Army Center of Hope (102 North Denver Avenue), the Tulsa Day Center (415 West Archer Street) and the Denver Avenue Station (319 South Denver Avenue).

All of the warming stations are open 24/7 except the Denver Avenue Station (Monday through Friday 5 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and Saturday at 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.), the Rose Bowl, and the Tulsa Dream Center.
