Downtown Tulsa: basketball court versus county court

If you work or have business in downtown Tulsa on Friday, you might want to think ahead because of the traffic.  Thousands of basketball fans will be pouring into the downtown area and the BOK Center for the NCAA tournament.  Over at the Tulsa County Courthouse, Tulsa County Presiding Judge Tom Thornbrugh says the basketball games won't change a thing.

"We anticipate it is going to be business as usual.  We did get a news release from the city on the dates and times that streets are closed.  So, we are going to be alright.  Our court will be going on while their court is going on down the street," says Thornbrugh.

Some downtown workers have been warned not to leave for lunch because of traffic or limited parking.  The first session tips-off at 11:15am at the BOK Center and the second session begins just before 6pm Friday evening.  Both sessions include two basketball games.

"I don't really anticipate a problem at all, I am confident that we can accommodate that.  There may be some glitches on parking,” says Thornbrugh.

There will also be several streets closed because of the event.
