Tulsa, Okla. — A jury trial begins Tuesday for a man charged with felony murder in the death of his accomplice during a drug deal three years ago.

Tulsa police say Derrick Smith and Deontre Ponder went to buy drugs near 51st and Memorial.

We're told during the exchange the possible drug dealer Chris Gundy shot and killed Ponder, even though Smith was not the one who pulled the trigger.

The District Attorney’s Office still considers him responsible because Ponder died during the commission of a felony.
