The official announcement was made at ONEOK Field in downtown Tulsa during a campaign kick-off rally.

As mayor, Taylor oversaw the completion of the BOK Center and supervised the move of Tulsa's city hall. Taylor served as an education adviser for then-Governor Brad Henry before announcing another run for mayor.

KRMG spoke with Mayor Taylor just minutes before the official announcement about why she deserves another term in office. Taylor says, "I've proven that, even in difficult economic times, we can keep police officers on the street, we can keep investing in our infrastructure, we can take care of our veterans and we can work to invest for the future."

Taylor hopes to unseat current Mayor Dewey Bartlett who is running for reelection. Former city councilor Bill Christiansen has also thrown his hat in the ring.
