TULSA — Governor Kevin Stitt announced Friday that health officials have identified a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Tulsa.

He made the announcement at a news conference held at the Tulsa County Health Department late Friday afternoon.

The patient is a Tulsa man in his early fifties who recently traveled to Italy.

Health officials would not discuss whether any family members or others may have traveled with him; however, they said four other people associated with the patient are undergoing testing.

On that topic, the governor had some good news.

Oklahoma now has testing kits and the capacity to test a hundred people a day - more if necessary - without having to wait for results from the CDC in Atlanta.

KRMG is told that person has been quarantined.
