More than a million people attended the Tulsa State Fair last year, so as you can imagine, parking is tough.

Free parking is now a thing of the past on the fairgrounds and parking in nearby neighborhoods is now discouraged.

The City of Tulsa has issued parking ordinances to be enforced during the fair.

The city says parking is prohibited in the following places:

- Within 10 feet of fire hydrants

- In yards (on lawn/grass)

- Between curbs and sidewalks and on sidewalks

- In “TOW AWAY ZONE” areas

- In “NO PARKING DURING STATE FAIR DATES” areas

Illegal parking could land you a $30 ticket and your car could be towed. It’s also illegal to park in certain areas of nearby neighborhoods.

Illegal parking in yards and on grass during the fair can result in fines of $60 for the vehicle owner and up to $500 to the property owner charging for a parking space in a yard, driveway and on grass.

Your best bet is using the free shuttle system to get to the fair.

- Tulsa Promenade Mall: 4107 S. Yale Ave. (South Side of Garage)

- Nathan Hale High School: 6920 E. 21st St.

- Tulsa Public Schools Education Service Center: 3027 S. New Haven Ave.

- OSU Tulsa Campus: 700 N. Greenwood Ave. (Parking Lot A, East of Campus)
