Inhofe: Don’t confuse weather with climate when dealing with Oklahoma’s extreme heat

We are experiencing some extreme weather with the second summer of record breaking heat.

The talk about heat and drought has focused attention on global warning.

In an interview with KRMG, Senator Jim Inhofe tells us he made comments Monday on the Senate floor about documented evidence that you can't take one weather event and call it climate change.

"Even by people who do believe in global warming that a weather event is not climate and so that is the answer and again that's one where all the scientists are all in agreement- one of the rare areas," says Inhofe.

He believes man-made global warming is a hoax.

Inhofe expanding on his comments, "You don't want to take one weather event and says this is it.  The difference is between weather and climate and we are talking about climate over the long period of time so we are in a 30-year cycle right now- entering a 30-year cycle that actually is going to be a cooling cycle."

Inhofe wrote a book detailing how man-made global warming is not true.

But others disagree with Inhofe’s statements and belief about global-warming.

Inhofe is the ranking Republican on the Senate Environment and Public Works committee and climate science will be part of a hearing Wednesday.
