BIXBY, Okla. — Tulsa County District 3 is hosting a “Keep Bixby Beautiful” neighborhood cleanup day in Bixby on Saturday, April 15.
The event is part of a larger “TRASH-OFF” campaign sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
Residents may bring their household waste in containers to Washington Irving Park located at 13700 S Memorial Ave. The M.e.t. will also be there to accept tires, batteries, and e-waste.
The last District 3 cleanup day, which was held on March 25 in Broken Arrow, Glenpool, South Tulsa, Leonard, and Liberty, resulted in the collection of 12 large containers of waste.
“We had such a great success with our last event and are excited to partner with the City of Bixby and the M.e.t. to make an even bigger impact,” said Tulsa County District 3 Commissioner Kelly Dunkerley.
Any normal household waste including furniture and small appliances will be accepted. Hazardous chemicals, AC units, or refrigerators will NOT be accepted.
The M.e.t. will be collecting tires, up to 10 per person, batteries, and e-waste.
Most e-waste is free to recycle and must weigh under 50 pounds. CRT computer monitors and televisions require a fee to process.
Tulsa County will be accepting materials from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until full.
The M.e.t. will be collecting tires, batteries, and e-waste from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
