As the 2019 novel coronavrius continues to spread in the United States and around the world, there is a lot of misinformation out there.
The KRMG Morning News with Dan Potter invited the Tulsa Health Department to participate in an in-depth discussion on the coronavirus and COVID-19.
Dr. Bruce Dart, Executive Director of the Tulsa Health Department and Kelly Van Buskirk, THD Epidemiology and Emergency Preparedness Director joined us for the hour.
As of now, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Oklahoma. Health officials are, however, testing individuals who meet certain criteria.
The state health department says even if a case of COVID-19 in an Oklahoma resident is confirmed, the risk to the general public is low.
Local, state and federal agencies say they are working together to stay ahead of the situation.
The Oklahoma State Department of Health is establishing a call center to answer the public’s questions.
