Man arrested for helium balloon ride

It was all just a publicity stunt. That’s what Daniel Boria told cops when he was arrested for attaching over 100 helium balloons to a lawn chair and taking a ride. He wanted his new business, which we won’t mention here, to get attention.

"I was looking down on the city and watching 747s and planes approaching the local airport," Boria boasted. He told CNN his ascent wasn't slow. "I'd estimate I was going up about 500 to 1,000 feet in a minute."

Cops in Calgary, Canada says Boria jumped from his contraption by parachute while his chair and makeshift ride kept on going. WMUR reports it finally came down on a farm near the city. "At this point, we have no reports of anybody finding anything or anybody being injured," cops admitted. Still, Boria faces charges of mischief causing danger to life.

Boria claims the plan cost him about $10,000. That’s $19.99 for the lawn chair, $1,430 to buy 110 balloons, and $80.00 to fill them with helium.
