Man sentenced for role in Oklahoma cold case

Warren Phllip Welch (deceased), Ronnie Busick and David Pennington (deceased), are suspected in the 1999 disappearance of two Oklahoma girls.

VINITA, Okla. — Ronnie Busick was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison in connection with the deaths of two people and the disappearance of two teenage girls in 1999.

Busick was sentenced in Craig County on one count of accessory to murder.

He could have reduced his sentence by leading police to the bodies of Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman.

Several searches have not recovered the teens’ remains.

Loren Bible read a statement in court during sentencing.

“You chose to go with two other men and change the course of so many lives, including your own. You could have done something to stop it,” said Bible.

Philip Welch and David Pennington, the other two suspects, have both died.
