MUSKOGEE, Okla. — A Muskogee man allegedly involved in a domestic disturbance and a Muskogee Police Officer were both shot during a gunfight on Wednesday evening near North M Street and Irving Street.
Around 5:30 p.m. Muskogee Police Department said they responded to a domestic disturbance and were told the man involved in the disturbance had a gun.
When officers arrived on the scene, they said the suspect shot at them with a pistol. According to a statement released by police, the suspect was hit and retreated inside the house.
Eventually, officers said they were able to convince the man to leave the house and the suspect was then taken to a hospital in Tulsa for treatment.
One of the three officers on the scene was struck in the leg during the shootout and was taken to St. Francis in Muskogee for treatment.
All three officers have been placed on administrative leave.
The Muskogee Police Department has not released the names of the people involved in this incident at this time.
