The Naval Criminal Investigative Service says the incidents took place on the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine, USS Wyoming. The first reports came after an officer on another sub received one of the videos.
Reports say a 24-year-old sailor made the videos of the women either in the shower or undressing, over a 12-month period.
The Navy Times writes, "Lt. Leslie Hubbell, a spokeswoman for Submarine Group 10 in Kings Bay, said the Navy would hold individuals involved accountable if the allegations prove factual, but said it would be inappropriate to comment further while the investigation is ongoing."
However, Lt. Hubbell confirmed to the Washington Post, "if the allegations prove to be factual, the Navy will ensure individuals involved are held accountable for their actions."
Over 40 women have served on subs since the ban on women ended in 2011.
