Drone enthusiasts just took it up a notch.

Digital Trends reports a German company called Volocopter just successfully tested a drone with 18 rotors that can carry a person.

In fact, it was the company's own CEO who tested it, using little more than a joystick and a few buttons.

It's powered by an electric motor.
