New medical facility opens at Tulsa’s Legacy Plaza, will benefit children and families

TULSA, Okla. — Dozens of people gathered Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the opening of a new medical facility benefitting children and families in Tulsa.

The multiple floors of the Legacy Plaza building will be occupied by Family and Children’s Services and the OSU Center for Health Sciences. While the two organizations will manage the facility, the building space was donated by the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation in 2018.

Renovations were completed last year. The OSU Center for Health Sciences will occupy six floors while Family and Children’s Services will occupy eight floors.

“We are so grateful to the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation for their immense generosity in gifting OSU the significant footprint at Legacy Plaza where we can treat patients in a modern facility, expand our Project ECHO service lines that provide health and mental health resources to rural care providers, and offer dedicated space to research better health outcomes for Native American populations,” said Dr. Johnny Stephens, President of OSU-CHS. “It also provides for a collaborative environment with Family & Children’s Services as our next-door neighbors.”

Tulsa mayor G.T. Bynum, Family & Children’s Services CEO Gail Lapidus, OSU-CHS President Johnny Stephens, and Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation Trustee Judy Kishner all attended Tuesday’s ribbon cutting ceremony.
